Every era has its own kind of vaudeville. Having finally witnessed Blue Man Group, I can say that this hit phenomena is the epitome of our current vaudeville. With its uses of video equipment, bizarre musical instruments, audience participation, zipper boards, and other antics, it is entertaining in the "specialty act" tradition, even if it goes on too long. The show apparently has periodic updates developing new bits of business and "skits" and obviously has some returning fans. It's worth a trip if, like in days of yore, you have nothing better to do.
