From the creators of Jump now comes Break Out where the masters of kung-fu bring on the hip-hop. This time, instead of simple sketches, there is a plot involving five prison inmates who achieve the production's title. What helps them in their endeavor is the discovery of a mystical tome that endows those who touch it with magical hip-hop maneuvers. It is silly fun with a few cultural divides that leave one a bit perplexed. Nonetheless, when the company dances, featuring several solo spots, the wow factor goes through the roof. There is also a sweetly funny use of puppet bodies attached to actors' heads as they must climb their way through some craggy mountains. Adolescents will certainly get a kick out of this performance and it thankfully is no more than hour.
