A CHRISTMAS CAROL

From the website:

"The great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens – Gerald Charles Dickens – continues his family legacy with his acclaimed one-man performance of A Christmas Carol in our landmark sanctuary.

Gerald, an actor and producer hailing from Oxford, England, leaps, sobs, laughs, and entertains – depicting 26 characters of the classic tale with just a table, wing chair, and hat rack accompanying him on stage. He will transform The Park’s gothic sanctuary into scenes straight out of the classic holiday tale, much as Scrooge was transformed from a dispirited miser to a joyous soul after his Christmas Eve encounter with ghosts from the past, present and future.

Charles Dickens first toured the U.S. in 1867, reading his literary works before spellbound audiences. Gerald began his own performances of A Christmas Carol in 1993 on the 150th anniversary of its publication, and has been delighting audiences around the world with his rendition ever since.

This is Mr. Dickens’ only New York stop on a tour that will take him from New England to the Mid-Atlantic for the first time since 2005.

Not recommended for children under the age of 8. "
